Nexans H07Z1-U PROTECT Type 2 wires are halogen-free, single-core insulated conductors rated at 450/750 V, offering enhanced fire performance and complying with the EN 50525-3-31 product standard.
Designed as an alternative to PVC-insulated H07V-U wires, they are intended for protected fixed installations where reducing smoke emissions, corrosive gases and fire propagation is a key requirement.
The range consists of a Class 1 solid copper conductor. Its CPR Cca-s1,d1,a1 classification meets the enhanced fire reaction requirements applicable to conductors and cables permanently installed in sensitive buildings, such as hospitals, airports, shopping centres, cinemas, schools and high-rise buildings.

Application
Nexans H07Z1-U PROTECT Type 2 wires are designed for protected low-voltage fixed installations in residential, commercial and industrial buildings, as well as for electrical panel wiring. They are particularly well suited to buildings where safe evacuation and the reduction of smoke-related damage are critical considerations, including apartment buildings, public-access buildings, high-rise buildings, offices, commercial premises, technical areas, car parks, schools, healthcare facilities and protected industrial installations.
Installation
Nexans H07Z1-U PROTECT Type 2 wires are designed for protected indoor fixed installations. Installation shall be carried out in conduits, trunking, raceways, cable ducts, skirting trunking, mouldings, or equivalent enclosed containment systems, whether surface-mounted or concealed.
These insulated conductors are not intended for installation without mechanical protection and shall not be directly fixed to walls, ceilings, cable trays, cable shelves or cable ladders. They shall not be directly embedded in building materials.
Direct burial is not permitted. Where underground installation is required, a suitably rated sheathed cable system shall be used.
Recommended installation parameters:
- Minimum installation temperature: +5°C
- Minimum bending radius: 4 × D
- Maximum pulling tension: 50 N/mm² of copper cross-sectional area
Pulling forces shall be applied directly to the conductor.
