Sonepar Spain joins Nexans' CableLoop initiative to enable its customers to recycle used cable at its points of sale
Dec 16, 2025
Madrid, December 16, 2025 – Sonepar Spain recently joined Nexans' CableLoop initiative to offer its customers a unique service for recycling used cables at its branches through an innovative digital scale.
The service, which is currently available at Sonepar's branches in Leganés, Vigo and Paterna, is carried out using CableLoop digital scale, into which customers deposit their cable waste. The container then calculates the amount of cable based on its weight and category to generate an immediate reward ticket in the form of a credit that can be redeemed on future purchases or at SoneClub points — Sonepar Spain's customer loyalty club.
The cable deposited by customers is transferred from Sonepar's logistics centres to a Nexans partner specializing in its recovery and recycling. The operational flow is managed through Nexans’ CableLoop digital solution, thus ensuring full traceability throughout the process.
Over the next year, Sonepar Spain plans to roll out CableLoop to more points of sale with the aim of continuing to expand this service that rewards its customers' circularity.
"At Sonepar, we are proud to work with our partner Nexans in implementing CableLoop to promote sustainable solutions in our sector. This unique service offers our customers the opportunity to easily recycle their cable waste and receive a great reward," said Bárbara García Florén, President of Sonepar Ibérica.
In 2024, Nexans began developing CableLoop for the first time with Sonepar France.
"We are now launching this initiative in Spain together with Sonepar, convinced that it will be a success. CableLoop simplifies recycling, promotes good habits and offers a concrete response to the current needs of installers," said Joaquim Gelabertó, Director of Nexans Spain.

This service perfectly illustrates Nexans and Sonepar's ability to combine sustainability, proximity and innovation:
"Being part of this project reflects our full commitment to the circular economy, as the collected cable is transferred to a company specializing in its recovery and recycling, where the rubber is separated from the copper to make raw material and remanufacture cable or other products, ensuring its circularity," said Sandra Prat, Sustainability Director at Sonepar.
"As leaders in cable and electrification solutions, at Nexans we understand the importance of adopting responsible practices that reduce our environmental impact. CableLoop is an example of this and a reflection of concrete actions for the development of the circular economy and responsible resource management together with our partner Sonepar," said Laure Desseigne, Director of Sustainable Marketing at Nexans Global.
