Supporting a more circular electrical industry
Beyond simplifying cable waste management, CableLoop contributes to the development of a more circular approach to the electrical industry.
The collected cable waste is directed towards dedicated recycling and recovery channels in Spain, where valuable materials such as copper and aluminium can be recovered and given a new life as secondary raw materials.
Depending on the quality of the recovered materials, recycled metals can be reintegrated into different applications, including the production of recycled and lower-carbon cables.
By recovering materials already in circulation, CableLoop helps preserve valuable natural resources and supports Nexans’ ambition to contribute to more sustainable electrification.
Scaling up through collaboration
The expansion of CableLoop in Spain illustrates the value of collaboration between Nexans and Sonepar to develop practical circular solutions for electrical professionals.
By making the service available through its branch network, Sonepar provides professionals with a convenient local and circular solution to sell their cable offcuts. Nexans brings its expertise in cables, metal recovery and recycling to give these materials a new life.
With this new deployment across 13 cities, Nexans and Sonepar are taking another step towards making cable recycling more accessible across Spain and accelerating the transition towards a more circular electrical industry.
This collaboration reinforces the shared sustainability ambitions of Nexans and Sonepar by accelerating the recovery and recycling of valuable cable materials. By making circularity more accessible to electrical professionals, CableLoop contributes to a more sustainable electrical industry and supports our shared vision to electrify the future, sustainably.
